Martin D. Yaffe is Professor of Philosophy and Religion Studies at University of North Texas. He is author of Shylock and the Jewish Question and of Leo Strauss on Moses Mendelssohn; editor of Judaism and Environmental Ethics: A Reader; translator of Benedict Spinoza, Theologico-Political Treatise; co-translator of Thomas Aquinas, Literal Exposition on the Book of Job; and co-editor of Emil Fackenheim—Philosopher, Theologian, Jew: A Collection of Critical Essays, of The Companionship of Books: Essays in Honor of Laurence Berns, and of Reorientation: Leo Strauss in the 1930s.
